This group posts every first Wednesday of each month.
Twitter hashtag is #IWSG
Purpose: To share and encourage.
Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing
foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer
assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all
kinds!
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group
day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and
the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer
a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in
the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new
people each time. Be sure to link to IWSG page and display the badge in your post.
Thank you to our host, Alex J. Cavanaugh and today's co-hosts: Mark Koopmans, Joylene Nowell Butler, Elsie, and Lisa Buie-Collard! Please stop by their sites and thank them for helping today.
Getting nervous about your work never goes away. It doesn't matter if you're Stephen King or a first time author. (And if the pro's say they'er not nervous, I still won't believe them).
I'm in the final stages of prepping a new release for July 22nd and each morning my stomach twists at the thought.
This one's special.
It's emotional.
It's got a lot of me in it.
Letting go will not be easy. I keep thinking what else I can do to help it fly and I'm blank. I feel like I'm standing on a stage, and instead of picturing the audience naked, I am.
So, that's my insecurity for this month. Getting over that nervousness :)
What are your insecurities today? How nervous are you when launching a book?
