Goals for 2012

WORD FOR THIS POST:

Resolution (n): 1.a formal expression of opinion or intention made, usually after voting, by a formal organization, a legislature, a club, or other group.

I know I said I wasn't going to post this year again, but my computer is calling my name :)
There are many things I'd like to accomplish this year, but I was able to narrow it down to top three.

1. Writing:
Write every day.  This means a minimum of 500 words per day. That's 182500 words for the year.  I could make this higher, but I don't want to set goals I can't meet. 500 for me is reasonable. Within this number are one and a half novels (because one is half done already) and one novella (because a second one is done as well). I will publish a minimum of 2 novels and 2 novellas in 2012. This may be higher but I'll let time tell what happens.

2. Reading:
Read a minimum of 25 books. I know this is not high, but again, I don't want  to set goals I cannot meat. If I go beyond 25, that's great and I will be able to set a higher goal for next year. I'm a firm believer of practicing what you preach and to me reading is learning. I plan to escape out of my genre as well which I am very excited about.

3. Marketing:
There's a lot that can be placed in this category, but mostly I plan to do some marketing every day. Yes, every day -  one piece of marketing is a must. Over the year that's 365! This will include updating my website www.martaszemik.com, commenting more on other blogs, doing a blog tour (which I'd never done before and have no clue where to start),  networking with other authors and scheduling regular guest posts on my blogs.

These goals are the minimum. I am very excited for this new year and what it will bring. I'm beginning to receive some great reviews for Two Halves which gives me that extra push that I need to keep going.

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year, filled with excitement, health, adventure and new discoveries! Happy 2012!
