Movies and music inspire me!
Music is my big thing..I adore it and it brings so much to my work.
I use the news too. My almost-published novella was partly inspired by a news story. I've used music, dreams, snippets of over-heard conversation. And I use myself quite a bit - not autobiographically, but there is some small trait/mannerism/saying from me in almost every single character I've ever written! (And, they're all different.)
