A = Automobiles

Welcome to the first post of the A-Z Challenge. If you visit everyday (except some Sundays) you'll notice a theme on this blog for the month of April.

Changes through history... (not the boring kind)

A is for Automobiles

Just think about where our society was 100 years ago and where it is right now. It boggles my mind!
To keep in the spirit of my blog, a definition will be provided for each word as well :) Enjoy!

Automobile (n):  a motor vehicle with four wheels; usually propelled by an internal combustion engine;

We've gone from this (kidding).
(but it was something close to this I'm sure)

To this:

:then these

Not too long ago:

: now, for those lucky enough

Perhaps in the near future:

This is what humans are capable of. Now if we could only figure out a way to stop pollution along with the technological evolution.

If you could buy any automobile (yes I'm getting fancy because it's an "A") which would you buy?

Personally, I wouldn't mind going back to 'horse and buggy'.

I like you first A-Z blog...but then I love pictures and you gave us some good ones. I have the car I want to drive and it is not real fancy but is a nice ride.

Hi! I'm hopping over from the A to Z challenge. I like the pictures you chose to illustrate your word choice for the letter A! Good luck with the challenge!

I'd like a Tesla. Electric cars that are so much cooler than the Volt or Leaf. But,buying one of those is like buying a house.

welcome to me

yummy stuff

Unfortunately, fuel efficient cars are very expensive. So I got the most fuel efficient car I can find in my price range which is working out quite well for me.

Anyway, awesome timeline! That last car looks insane.

What an awesome idea for your posts! I love that last picture of what cars may become!

Happy A-Zing!

A DeLorean - preferably of the time travelling variety!

It always amazes me - and your theme will probably further that amazement - how far we've come in a proportionately short time.

My dream car is a red Duesenberg. My second choice is a blue or sea-green Rochet-Schneider. Other favorites are the original Russo-Baltique (not the new ones, the ones that were made till about 1920), a red Chrysler Imperial Touring, and a green or blue Peugeot. I love antique cars, and would love to make that a hobby if I ever have that kind of money and space.

Now we just need them to fly and/or teleport!

Yep, we've certainly come a long way. Interesting to think what we'll evolve to in a few years.

Technology is advancing so rapidly, I wonder what cars will look like in the future?

LOVE me the automobiles!! I want a sexy beast of a Dodge Challenger, white. My ultimate would be the 1970 one featured in Vanishing Point.

Hello from a fellow Canadian horror writer and A to Z blogger!
Yeah, we've gotten smarter but not wiser. Pollution will continue to be a big problem. A lot of car makers are hustling electric cars as a green alternative, without mentioning where the electricity comes from. Since half of America's power comes from coal, you might be driving a coal-powered car!
