I wonder what the future holds for our books. Any ideas? What is your favorite book?

Someone once joked we'd be able to download them into our brain, but I'd rather not do that.
What a lovely post! I'm in the Now, I guess, as I simply adore my Kindle :). I have to say, though, I do wish they'd put some of my old faves from the 80's on Kindle--Waiting for the Galactic Bus is one I'm thinking of, and Weaveworld. Great idea, thanks for sharing :)
now if they could make coffee the same way... wow that doesn't make any sense... maybe i am needing some digital coffee... thank you for the books post
Great start... to the challenge "B" is for Brilliant!

I love the picture of the old books. I'd love a bookshelf full of those.
I must have been reading too many blogs today, because I thought you were writing about 'edible' scrolls!
It is true...with progress things are lost. I love the smell of new books maybe they will add that to the kindle:)
There will be some gadget where we can just hear the book in our mind, no reading required! :)

Great post! I have a kindle but do love proper books and my favourite is the Lord of the Rings (also my theme!). I hope that the future will still very much be centred around reading books. I know how good audio books are but it is completely differnt to actually physically reading a book.
I'm your newest follower! I'll be sticking around to see your posts throughout the challenge!
I refuse to buy an e-reader. It's print books or death for me. I hope the future doesn't eradicate print books all together. But I'll give them one thing - they're getting people who don't read a lot to invest some time in the written word. Guess convenience will do that for some.
Great post and happy A-Z blogging.
I was gonna say a joke about the mind reading (haha! punny :) ) but a lot of people have beat me to it. :)
And now we can carry around a ton of books with us in a small reader. As long as we have power.
Before you know it, we'll have book implants to "read". Good old nano-tech will make it possible. Why not? (this is said with some sarcasm)
Awesome post!
Happy Monday!
Jaycee's A-Z
I love old books, and get so excited when I see them at a library or museum. It makes me think about what they must've been through in their lifetimes, what kinds of people were reading and handling them 100, 150, 300+ years ago, when they were brand new and the pages weren't yellow, the typeface not so antique.
My favorite book is Hermann Hesse's Demian. It might seem odd, since it's under 200 pages and I normally far prefer books that are at least 500, but it's such an amazing story and opened my mind up to so many things I hadn't even known about.
Love that you showed the history of books through images. :)
great A-Z post!

I have Kindle on my PC - the only reason I got it was so that I could read a short story from one of my favourite authors... and it was only available as an ebook.
@ Changes in the wind - that'll probably be next - air fresheners for your portable technology! New book smell, coffee, new car smell...

The Funnily Enough
My back is thankful that we don't have to carry books anymore.
In the future we'll download stories straight into our brains ;)
Oh wait, maybe they'll become like a full virtual experience.
Great post and theme! :D
I think this one is my favourite of your Challenge Posts. Books, that's what started all of us writing wasn't it? Great theme by the way!
