H = Home

H is for Home
(Theme: changes through history)

Home (noun, adj, adv, verb):  a house, apartment or other shelter that is the usual residence of a person, family or household.

It all started with caves.

As humans evolved, so did their home.

Those lucky in this world live have some sort of shelter,

 which they call home.

Others, still use cardboard and plywood or a heating vent of an intersection. That makes me sad :(

To me, home means safety, happiness, fortune, love, protection, family.

What does the word home mean to you?

Home means family and a respite from the world, a place to relax and be completely myself.

Unfortunately the house I live in needs such a major refurb it makes me despair!

Home is where the people are you can trust. I thank God I have had several physical homes in my life, but the people who make it home, that group continues to grow.

Home means physical and emotional security. When everything else in the world seems wrong, it's the one place that is right.

Home is somewhere you're glad to get back to after weekends away in our notoriously unreliable British weather.

Home means comfort and security. My husband's arms. :)

Home is my family--hubby, two sons, and then my siblings and mom. It's also NYC, where I've lived for many years now. I love culture-plays museums, theater, and of course great food!
I'm over from A to Z at Catherine Stine's Idea City, should you want to pop on by! Cheers!

A touching post. Yeah, some people have to make do with pitifully little don't they?
My home is that place where I can put my cares aside for the night and just relax as myself. The place I look forward to seeing again when I'm far away and the place where my animals can know I'll return to.
Bless you Marta, Geoff.

Home is family. Home is my cocoon, where I can be comfortable and retreat from the world around me -- except for those things that follow us everywhere, like bills and such. ;) Home is where I belong, no matter what else is going on in my life.

Thanks for a lovely post!

Cool progression of pics. Home means safety zone to me - although sometimes it becomes an overwhelming pile of stuff to do zone.

Home is a place, a foundation, of security from which I can go out to explore the world. Home is some people, who may not live near me, but still provide that foundation and the basis from which to expand my horizons.

I've just been reading through your past A to Z posts, and they are great! Thanks for commenting on my blog post today, which led me to yours!

Home is hopefully secure. When we moved into our house, we were immediately victims of a theft. That never feels good, but I never want to lose the sense of home because someone did something like that to us.

I love what home means to you. I feel the same way. Love, happiness, and lots of craziness. :)
