Q is for Quarter
(A-Z theme: changes through history)
Quarter (n): one fourth of a U.S. or Canadian dollar, equivalent to 25 cents. (yes, there are other definitions, but that's the one I'm talking about today)
From time to time it comes in single commemorative designs such as the following. My kids love collecting these:)

My son asked me about the half-dollar or dollar coin a few weeks ago. I hadn't realized how many different versions had been made.
My stepdaughter collects quarters.

I love the colour on those commemorative coins. I'm not sure British coins have ever had colour... or maybe I just haven't noticed.

I've never seen those quarters. I'm Canadian, but I fell for an American and live in the states with him. I miss Canada's lovely colorful coins and bills.
