Insecure Writer's Support Group - July 2nd, 2014

This group posts every first Wednesday of each mont.
Twitter hashtag is #IWSG

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It's a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer's Support Group day. Post your thoughts on you own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling.

Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time. Be sure to link to IWSG page and display the badge in your post.

Thank you to our host Alex J. Cavanaugh and his co-hosts for today:  Krista McLaughlinKim Van SicklerHeather Gardner, and Hart Johnson! Please visit them to thank them for helping out today.

How Are you doing this month? I'm feeling like I'm sitting on pins and needles. The boxed set I'm in (under my other name) is doing incredibly well and we're very close to hitting USA Today. We were close last week and had our hopes up, and it didn't happen. But we're even closer this week. If it happens, this will be a BIG deal for me. And if it doesn't, then I guess we'll keep going - hey sometimes things are out of our control, but we'd still done a great job for our first time :)

It has long been my dream to write and be able to support my family. And I can now proudly say that I am doing just that - with my writing! It's an unbelievable and an incredible feeling - one I cat even explain because I'm choking just thinking about it. Now it's just a matter of sustaining the momentum which means finishing 1.5 books by month end. One is half done, the other one just started. i doubt I can do both by then, but I can definitely finish the one I just started. And if I succeed I'll be back on schedule.

So lots of new stuff happening this month. With the kids at home and a full schedule of activities it will be tougher to find the time to work - but it's only 2 months, right?

What are your insecurities this month? How is your summer looking? Any exciting plans?

Hope you make USA Today. :-)

That is awesome!!! Both that you're so close and that you can support your family with your writing. Let us know when you hit USA Today's chart. I know you will.

It's good that you're in that place where you can make a living from it, and having to maintain volume is often a part of it.

That's fantastic news! Congratulations on everything you've achieved. Supporting my family from my writing is a dream I have too - a little further away at the moment though.

I feel I've missed something though - what other name do you write under, and should I already know?
